We are two Manhattan lawyers living in a large three-bedroom apartment in the historic Ironbound District of Newark, New Jersey. The train to Manhattan is an easy walk from our apartment, and arrives at the World Trade Center or Midtown in about 20 minutes. And is costs as little as $1.87, less than the New York City subway! The Neighborhood Newark's Ironbound district, in addition to being ridiculously close to Manhattan, is worth exploring on its own. The Ironbound District offers a bit of everything. It's a vibrant community of immigrants from Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Ecuador, and elsewhere. Its vibrant nightlife scene features Brazilian rhythms, disco, food and libation. Its many outstanding restaurants burst with flavors from all those nationalities and more, and range from the reasonably priced to the dirt cheap. Its streets are quiet and amazingly traffic-free for a place so close to Manhattan. And it's safe at all hours. We will gladly show you around the neighborhood. We're also longtime residents of New York City and can recommend, and maybe even take you to, many beautiful places in New York City that are not overrun by tourists. Our Place We offer a spacious bedroom with a full size bed for two persons, with full use of the kitchen, dining area, living room, and balcony overlooking the Newark Downtown. Our apartment is very large and comfortable, with free WiFi and a "semi-private" bathroom (we have two bathrooms and will do our best to leave one of them to you). You can prepare meals at home (we provide dishes, pots and pans, and some food items), or enjoy one of the many excellent local eateries, such as Delícias de Minas at the corner. The grocery is a few minutes walk away and has a variety of ethnic offerings.
